At the beginning of June, we held an online workshop to develop the Action Plan for the National Strategy for Social Innovation 2025–2035. During the workshop, we reviewed and defined key measures to support innovative approaches to addressing social challenges over the next two years. This marked another important step in shaping the Strategy and Action Plan, which are expected to be adopted in the second half of this year.
Key stakeholders of the social innovation ecosystem in Slovenia were invited to participate in the online workshop, including representatives from the public sector, business, academia, and civil society. In this phase, 20 stakeholders responded to the invitation and actively contributed their ideas and opinions regarding key areas and concrete measures for the successful implementation of the objectives outlined in the Strategy. These contributions focused on five defined thematic areas: Legal and institutional framework; Financing and support for social innovation; Quality standards for social innovation and impact measurement/monitoring; Support ecosystems for innovators; Training and awareness-raising.
Based on the stakeholders’ input, the final draft of the Strategy and Action Plan will be prepared. This draft will be shared once more with all stakeholders for review and feedback, with the aim of producing a final document that effectively defines and guides the further development and support of social innovation over the next decade.
An important component of this effort will also be the establishment of a National Competence Centre, whose role and vision, along with an update on the current status of the Strategy and Action Plan, will soon be presented to the relevant national ministry.
